This book is a calling that God placed on my heart years ago. I didn't know how to start it or even what to write. After many failed attempts, I had pretty much given up. But God isn't in favor of letting dreams die. Through countless people encouraging me to write my story, I knew it was God's will. Still, every time I sat down to write...nothing would come.
God Very gently told me that my pride was in the way. I wasn't sure what He was talking about since I have never thought very highly of myself. He told me I was not willing to share my entire story, failures and all. Fear and pride kept corners of my life hidden. He said if I were willing to let my life be an open book, He would use it to bring redemption, restoration, and healing to many. My book would break bondages in people's lives.
I humbly repented and told God that if He could use my testimony for His glory and could use my story to bring healing, I would tell it. All of it.
I understood what God was talking about in 2 Corinthians 12:9. "My Grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness." When I didn't have the power or ability to do something, that's when God's power shined through. I can't take the credit for anything...it's all Him.
You see, when God showed me His love, what people thought of me didn't matter anymore. In the Bible, Jesus says, "those who have been forgiven little love little. But those who have been forgiven much love much."
I have been forgiven much, and I love much. I don't want anyone carrying burdens, guilt, and shame. I don't want anyone to feel hopeless. As your read, ask God to reveal His truth to you. Most of all, let His unconditional love overwhelm you as it did me.
